If you are applying for a new driver’s license, permit, or identification card, you are required to obtain a SecureID and must bring the appropriate documents to a license branch.
Customers who are renewing, amending, or replacing their current Indiana driver’s license, permit, or identification card are also asked to bring original versions or certified copies of documents so they can obtain a new SecureID credential.

U.S. citizens with a current Indiana driver’s license or identification card, who are having difficulty collecting their documents, can apply for a non-SecureID driver's license or identification card in order to drive or vote. Foreign nationals living in Indiana must bring their documents to a license branch in order to get a new, renewed, amended, or duplicate SecureID credential.
