Saturday morning, our state suffered the tragic loss of Governor Frank O’Bannon – a
dedicated public servant and a true gentleman. His undaunted leadership in the face of difficult
times is an affirmation of the strong character he developed while growing up in southern
Indiana.
Governor O’Bannon unselfishly devoted much of his life to serve the citizens of our
state. He was the kind of man who would take time to listen to one’s concerns and in return
would offer a caring and thoughtful response. Clearly, Governor O’Bannon was beloved by
those who worked with him, and by those who only knew him from afar.
During this time of remembrance, my staff and I would like to express our deepest
sympathy to Judy and the O’Bannon family. They have been in our prayers since we received
news last week of Governor O’Bannon’s stroke and we continue to offer our prayers and help to
the O’Bannon family and the Governor’s staff.
