Wanted: Identity Theft Prevention Experts. No experience necessary, will train.

The Attorney General’s Office is offering a FREE webinar training to to those with an interest in combatting the fastest growing crime in America – identity theft. This crime takes on many forms, affecting victims in more than just financial loss.  In some cases, victims have lost out on job opportunities or the approval of loans for cars, education or housing.  In rare cases, they may even be arrested for crimes they did not commit.  Victims of medical identity theft may have erroneous patient data – that of the identity thief – in their medical records.  Unfortunately the crime continues to be widespread because the thieves are becoming more savvy with the ways they collect our personal information.  This training will examine not only how anyone can become a victim of identity theft but also how anyone can help prevent it.
