Thanks for sharing your voice with us. As we enter the final phase of the current Strategic Plan, the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) gathered input from Hoosiers across the state.

To do so, the IAC partnered with the Indiana State Library and Regional Arts Partners to host its first Web Cafe on December 5, 2013. The Web Cafe consisted of two parts: a morning live event hosted by our collaborating partners and an evening webinar event.

In both events, IAC Executive Director Lewis Ricci reviewed the Strategic Plan and audiences voted on top plan goals and objectives for 2014-2016. An open-ended Q&A followed. Todd Wetzel, Director of Purdue Convocations, served as the host site facilitator for the morning live event.

How Hoosiers Participated

The Web Cafe included two ways for Hoosiers to participate: either in a morning live event from a host or satellite location or from the comfort of their own home, office or library for an evening webinar event. In total, we had nearly 100 Hoosiers join us from across the state to share their voices in the Web Cafe.

We have tabulated the input and results gathered in the Web Cafe live and webinar events. Click here to access a full report. The information in this report will be used to inform the Commission's identification of priorities and goals for the final phase (2014-2016) of the current Strategic Plan.

What Happens Next

The Web Cafe is one piece of a large puzzle as we move forward in the strategic planning process. In addition to the results of the Web Cafe, we will consider results from various strategic planning sessions with Commissioners and staff to identify the IAC's top priorities and goals for the final phase (2014-2016) of the current Strategic Plan.

Your input from the Web Cafe as well as the results of our other strategic planning sessions will be brought to the full Commission at our quarterly meeting in December 2013. From there, the Commission will identify the top priorities and goals for the final phase of our Strategic Plan. Once these priorities and goals have been identified, they will be made public on our website.

How can I see others' feedback?

Why did the IAC use a web-based format to collect feedback?

When we developed the current Strategic Plan, we held a series of public forums throughout the state to gather public input. By using this web-based format with the generous partnership of the Indiana State Library and our Regional Arts Partners, we were able to accomplish in one virtual statewide meeting what took us several weeks to do previously.

Will the IAC use this type of web-based format for future programs and services?

We are currently exploring whether a web-based format similar to the Web Cafe is an effective and efficient way to offer other programs and services to our constituents around the state.
