Types of Grants Available:
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Grants
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides $50 million to be distributed in direct grants to fund arts projects and activities which preserve jobs in the nonprofit arts sector threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn. Forty percent of the funds will be distributed through State arts agencies and regional arts organizations and 60 percent will be competitively awarded directly by the National Endowment for the Arts.
Individual Artist Program
The Individual Artist Program (IAP) funds projects to aid in artist career development.
American Masterpieces
The National Endowment for the Arts will sponsor performances, exhibitions, tours, and educational programs allowing audiences to experience art forms that represent the best of our cultural and artistic legacy.
Arts in Education Granting Program
The Arts in Education (AIE) Granting Program was created to help support curriculum needs, impact individual student engagement and performance, and develop a long term commitment to the arts in schools at the primary and secondary levels. Schools are asked to develop a working partnership with an artist, organization, business or group to develop and implement a successful project. All projects must meet current state curriculum standards.
Presenters Touring Program
This program was developed to assist Indiana Presenters presenting Indiana artists/ensembles and Indiana producers to tour Indiana. Artists must be Indiana residents or employed as part of an arts organization based in Indiana. The emphasis will be on reaching rural audiences.

Multi-regional Major Arts Institutions

Major Arts Institution program awards will be contracted for one year at a time. Depending on an update form included with the Final Report, panel scores from the original application may be used to begin a new program contract for the following year.
Statewide Arts Service Organizations
Provides financial support to organizations offering technical assistance on a statewide or multi-regional basis, with an emphasis on arts providers in underserved communities.
Regional Arts Partners
In 1997, the Indiana Arts Commission and 12 community-based organizations jointly established the Indiana Regional Arts Partnership, a collaborative project to enhance support for arts and cultural activities statewide, especially in underserved areas. Each of the 12 Partners works in cooperation with the Indiana Arts Commission to provide four core services to artists, arts providers, and arts consumers in specified multi-county regions of Indiana. The core services are: cultural planning, grants making, information and referral, and technical assistance. The Regional Arts Partners use information about the needs of local artists, arts providers, and arts consumers to develop and provide services.
Note: The application below is for the 10 Regional Arts Partners of the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) only. If you are applying for or reporting on indirect IAC funding through a regional partner, contact your Regional Partner for information about applications and reporting.
