The IAC helps strengthen arts education in Indiana by providing assistance to enhance arts education delivery, support, and resources. We hope to increase access to arts education resources for educators, artists, and arts organizations as well as increase public awareness of the value of whole child education and in life-long learning in the arts.
The Art Education Association of Indiana (AEAI) is the professional organization dedicated to promotion, advancement, and improvement of art education at all levels in the state of Indiana. AEAI's purposes are to increase public awareness, develop strategies for statewide advocacy, inform membership on current issues and political action, recognize outstanding performance and programs statewide, and assist the State Department of Education in development and implementation of curriculum materials.

The Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest was created in 2005 by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation. The contest is administered in partnership with State Arts Agencies.
Poetry Out Loud builds on the recent resurgence of poetry as an oral art form, as demonstrated by the slam poetry movement and the immense popularity of rap music among our youth. The program encourages the nation's youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance, which help students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about our literary heritage.
