Q: What are the fees?
A: There are two fee structures depending on your entity registration type.
Non profit organizations: $25.00
For profit organizations: $85.00
If you pay by credit card (Visa/MasterCard/Discover) you will be charged an Instant Access Fee of $1 plus 2% of your registration. For example, a for profit organization paying by credit card would pay a total of $87.72 which is $85.00 + $1 * 2%.

Q: I do not have all of the information to complete my registration. Can I finish my registration at a later time?
A: Yes. You may logout and return at a later time using your username and transaction I.D. to log back in. Your registration will not be submitted to the Indiana Secretary of State until you have completed every section on the registration form.

Q: How do I check the status of my registration?
A: After you have successfully submitted your registration and payment, you will later receive an email from the Indiana Secretary of State notifying you the registration has been approved or rejected.

You may check the status of your registration by logging back into the application using your username (email address) and transaction I.D. to view the "status." Your status can be:

Incomplete: You must finish filling out your form with the required information before SOS can approve your registration

Pending Review: You have completed your registration and have successfully submitted it to the Indiana Secretary of State for review. The Indiana Secretary of State will contact you via email to let you know your registration has been approved or rejected.

Approved: Your business entity registration has been approved.

Rejected: Your business entity registration was not approved by the Indiana Secretary of State. A reason (s) should be listed in your email as to why it was not approved. You may contact SOS at 317.232.6576 to determine why your registration was not approved.

Q: My registration was rejected. Can I resubmit the registration again for approval?
A: Yes. In the email you received from the Indiana Secretary of State you will receive a reason(s) as to why your registration was rejected. You may log back into the site using your email address and transaction I.D. to view your form and fix any of the information on the form. When you have finished updating the form, select check out and submit registration. Although your account was refunded the registration fee, you will need to submit another payment for the Indiana Secretary of State to approve your revised filing.

Q: My registration was rejected. How do I receive my refund?
A: In the result of a rejected registration by the Indiana Secretary of State, you will receive a refund in the amount of your registration fees. Registration fees are $25 for Non-Profit and $85 for Profit entities.

If your registration was paid online via credit card, an Instant Access credit card processing fee of $1 plus 2% of your registration was added to the registration fee. If your registration was rejected no credit card processing fees will be refunded.

If your registration was paid online via a subscription account, you will see your refund on your next monthly billing statement.
