Event Description:
Welcome back campers and outdoor enthusiasts! We hope your 2019 recreation season is off to a great start! Join us this weekend for the following events.

Saturday, May 4th
10:00 a.m.
Senior Spring Nature Fling – As part of Indiana State Park's partnership with the Indiana Arts Commission, we are excited to have local artists Sean and Frances Yates visit Whitewater Memorial State Park for their Senior Spring Nature Fling program.
About the artists: Sean Yates has been a nature photographer for more than 20 years, featuring rural and urban natural environments throughout the Midwest, East Coast, and Tunisia. Frances Yates is an educator and project coordinator for programs in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
Sean and Frances invite you to enjoy a contemplative walk along the Memorial Loop Trail and creatively express your experience though mindful photography and reflective writing. Participants can select one of their nature photos and text to be included in an exhibit and book. Note: Memorial Loop is rated as a moderately rugged trail.
This event is targeted to senior citizens, but all members of the public are welcome to join.
What to bring: Any type of camera and writing pad.
Meet at Poplar Grove Shelter for this 2 hour workshop.
Saturday, May 4th

We will discuss the importance of camouflage and learn about some animals that really know how to blend in. Meet at Poplar Grove Shelter for this 40 minute moderate hike.

Sunday, May 5th
