Event Description:
University of Evansville, Neu Chapel
1800 Lincoln Ave, Evansville, IN

Join University of Evansville archaeology majors for a free tour of an excavation.  Students have been excavating the remains of demolished student apartments known as Tin City.  Built out of surplus military barracks, the units accommodated the university’s growing population of veterans after World War II.  In addition to sharing a little bit about the history of UE, student-guides will also explain how an archaeological excavation works.  No reservations are required and tours will last about 15 minutes.

This event is a part of Indiana Archaeology Month.  During September, organizations around the state celebrate archaeology by hosting events where individuals can learn more about the archaeology field and the past.  Learn more at />
