Event Description: Private landowners are invited to attend a native grassland and pollinator habitat workshop. These workshops will be held throughout this summer and fall. Workshops are led by Indiana DNR Grasslands for Gamebirds and Songbirds (GGS) biologists. You can learn about the GGS Initiative, how to create native grassland and pollinator habitat on your land, and explore opportunities for financial assistance that support habitat development.
Several grassland wildlife species in Indiana are in decline such as bobwhite quail, ring-necked pheasant, Henslow's sparrow, and loggerhead shrike. Developing grassland and pollinator habitat on private land is important for the survival of these species in Indiana. Grassland habitat is also valuable to common game species such as the whitetail deer and wild turkey.
No registration or fee is required to attend the workshop.
