Project WET & Aquatic WILD Educator Workshop, Warsaw

Event Description:

Project WET and Project WILD invite you to explore and share the fascinating world of aquatic wildlife and ecosystems using fun, hands-on educational activities. Learn how to teach conservation to children through a professional development workshop.

During this workshop, participants will be introduced to Project WET and Aquatic WILD, an award winning international environmental education program. This workshop will provide educators with resources to teach water-focused conservation and aquatic habitats to students, kindergarten through 12th grade, in formal and non-formal classrooms. Project WET and Aquatic WILD materials are aligned with Common Core Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and Indiana State Standards. The lessons are designed to foster awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of water resources while expanding students’ knowledge and skills.

Workshop participants will receive:

  • Project WET Educator Guide,
  • Aquatic WILD Educator Guide,
  • Eight contact hours that can be applied towards Teacher’s Professional Growth Plan (PGP),
  • Certificate of workshop completion in Project WET & Aquatic WILD,
  • Indiana-specific resources,
  • And more!

Anyone who works with children, including teachers, homeschoolers, informal educators, and scout leaders are welcome. This workshop is tailored to educate children in water-focused topics. There is no cost associated with this workshop.

Pre-registration is required to attend. At the workshop, please wear comfortable shoes and clothing as you might go outside for activities. Lunch is not provided; please bring your own snacks and/or refreshments.

Cost: Free

WILD materials are distributed only with requisite hours of training.  Attendance and participation in the entire workshop is required to receive any of the materials, regardless of fee payment.
