Event Description:

The After the Shot seminar focuses on methods for tracking and recovering deer and is tailored to new and experienced deer hunters or those interested in learning about deer hunting.

During the seminar, participants will become familiar with:

  • Shot placement
    • Firearms vs. archery equipment
  • After the shot
    • Reading animal reactions
    • Evaluating the shot site
    • Judging wait time
  • Tracking technique
    • How to read blood trail
  • Tracking with a dog
    • When to use
    • How to find a canine tracker
    • Raising and training

A portion of this seminar will be outside in forested areas. Please dress accordingly; long pants and sturdy boots are recommended.

There is no cost associated with attending this seminar. You are not required to have a hunting license to participate. Participants must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by a parent or guardian to attend.
