Miami Indian Corn Husk Doll Making, Ouabache State Park

Event Description:
Join Miami Artist and Tradition Bearer, Catherine Mowry in making and dressing a corn husk doll in the Myaamia way. Learn why the dolls have no face and other stories about Miami life and culture. Children should be accompanied by an adult and all are welcome to create their own doll. Boys can make action figures. All supplies will be provided by the artist. Please sign up at the park office by calling or walking in during the office hours of 8 am to 3:30 pm as spaces are limited. You can also send an email to sign up as well.
