Event Description: The Friends of Fort Harrison State Park group is hosting an accelerated Indiana Master Naturalist course June 23-27 at the park.
The workshop is designed for teachers, environmental educators, and others who cannot attend a typical eight-week-long course.
Cost is $85 for the general public or $80 for members of the Friends of Fort Harrison.
Registration is limited to 30 students. The registration deadline is Saturday, June 14.
Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The course will involve nine sessions on natural history and end with a test. To graduate from the Indiana Master Naturalist program, participants must attend eight of the nine sessions and volunteer 30 hours with a natural resource organization.
Registrants should dress to be outdoors and should supply their own lunch.
The mission of the Indiana Master Naturalist program is to bring together natural resource specialists with adult learners to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soils and wildlife; and to promote volunteer service in local communities.
