The Faerie Gathering, Paynetown SRA (Monroe Lake)
Start Date: 6/22/2019Start Time: 10:30 AM
End Date: 6/22/2019End Time: 9:00 PM
Event Description:
Woodland Faerie Scavenger Hunt at 10:30 a.m.
Meet the naturalist at the front of the Overflow Parking Area
Step into the role of a faerie seeking out natural materials to construct its woodland home. What would you gather? How could it be used? (And would real woodland residents use these things in the same ways?) Collect items and construct a temporary faerie home! 45 to 60 minutes

Faerie Crafting Circle from 1 to 3 p.m.
Activity Center area
We’ll have all kinds of faerie-themed crafts (expect 5 or 6 different projects!) for you to make. Each craft will be available for the entire two hours, while supplies last.

Clay Pot Faerie House at 4:30 p.m.

Activity Center Amphitheater
Design a clay pot faerie house – the perfect centerpiece for a faerie garden! We’ll have all kinds of materials for you to use in decorating it. 45 to 60 minutes
Space is limited to 10 participants and the cost is $3 per participant (cash or check only). Reserve your spot – and see an example craft - at the Activity Center beginning at 1 p.m. today! (If any spots are still open by 4:30 p.m., they will be first-come first-served.)

Faerie Door Workshop at 8:00 p.m.
Activity Center Amphitheater
Design a gorgeous faerie door to invite a little imagination into your house! These doors are traditionally set into the base of a tree, behind which may be small spaces where people can leave notes, wishes, or gifts for the "faeries" – but they can also be placed at the base of a wall or fence, against a large rock, or just used decoratively inside a house. You’ll start with a wooden base and use ceramic tiles, glass gems, paints, and lots of other items to craft your own door. 60 minutes
Space is limited to 10 participants and the cost is $4 per participant (cash or check only). Reserve your spot – and see an example craft - at the Activity Center between 1 and 5 p.m. today! (If any spots are still open by 8 p.m., they will be first-come first-served.)
