End Date: 6/27/2019End Time: 12:45 PM
Event Description:

June 27, 2019 from 8:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. ET

Learn how to share conservation with children at this professional development opportunity designed for anyone who works with children.

Project WILD invites you to explore and share the fascinating world of wildlife and ecosystems using fun, hands-on educational activities. This workshop will provide you with curriculum that meets Common Core Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and Indiana State Standards while allowing you to network with other educators.

During this workshop, participants will be introduced to Growing Up WILD, an award-winning national early childhood environmental education program. Growing Up WILD is one of Project WILD’s curriculum guides designed to build on children’s sense of wonder about nature and invite them to explore wildlife and the world around them. This workshop will help educators provide an early foundation for developing positive impressions about nature and lifelong social and academic skills to children aged three to seven. Growing Up WILD materials are correlated to Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation. Activities involve children directly exploring nature outdoors.

Workshop participants receive:

  • Four Professional Development Points that can be applied towards Teacher’s Continuing Education hours,
  • Growing Up WILD early childhood Guide,
  • Growing Up WILD certificate, and
  • Indiana-specific resources

Anyone who works with children, including teachers, homeschoolers, informal educators, and scout leaders, are welcome. This workshop is tailored to educate children aged three to seven. At the workshop, please wear comfortable shoes and clothing as you might go outside for activities.

Cost: $20.00

Check or money order due is at the workshop. Please make checks payable to Indiana Natural Resources Foundation.

Pre-registration is required to attend.

Registration fee is for WILD training.  WILD materials are distributed only with requisite hours of training.  Attendance and participation in the entire workshop are required to receive any of the materials, regardless of fee payment.
