It's a work day! Learn about invasive plants, and why our native plant species are important to our landscape.
Learn about and participate in hands-on invasive management techniques. The Blue Heron Trailhead will be the
target area for several consecutive years.

Target invasive species: bush honeysuckle, autumn olive, and tree of heaven

Dress for the activity. Some suggestions: closed-toe shoes/boots, gloves, long sleeved shirt, long pants, insect
repellant, sun screen, wide brimmed hat, water bottles.

If you're interested in the continued efforts to combat invasive species, consider joining the Upper Wabash CISMA (Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area) group. We welcome business owners, farmers, property owners, and interested individuals in the Miami, Wabash, and Huntington County areas to continue bringing attention to this wide-spread environmental problem. For more information about this group, contact
