Fall Fest, Prophetstown State Park

Event Description:
Prophetstown State Park. Fall Fest. From trick-or-treating in the campground, to hayrides, to a barn dance at The Farm, there is plenty of entertainment for the whole family

October 18th-20th

Friday, October 18th
7pm-10pm Hayrides 
Take a hayride through Prophetstown State Park! Hayrides leave from the Aquatic Center. Space is limited. Tickets cost $2 per person. Pre-buy your tickets at the Main Gate. Tickets go on sale Thursday, October 17th at 9am. First come, first serve. NO additional rides provided, no additional seating available the day of, no refunds. Rides take off from the Aquatic Center promptly at 7pm, 7:45pm, 8:30pm, and 9:15pm
7:30pm-8:30pm S’mores at the Campground
Join us for s'mores in the campground! All s'more fixings provided. Bring a lawn chair and a blanket! Meet at the campground comfort station picnic tables.

Saturday, October 19th
10:30am - 3:30pm Halloween Tenant House Tours at The Farm
Hoosier families in the 1920s incorporated harvest and Halloween themes in their fall gatherings. Tour the I. Floyd Garrott Tenant House, and hear about “Little Orphan Annie,” see the dining room set up for a Halloween party and  play a traditional fortune telling game. 
11am-Noon Prairie Maze Scavenger Hunt
Join a naturalist at the Prairie Maze for a family fun scavenger hunt! Park at the Aquatic Center.  
11am - 5pm Fall Fest and Barn Dance at The Farm
Stop in and celebrate Fall Funfest weekend! We will have fall themed crafts and activities for kids. FREE popcorn  and cider will be available while supplies last. Food will be available for purchase. Decorate a mini pumpkin for $2 each. Scott Greeson has performed all around the Midwest and will be playing his unique Americana style-folk music in our barn from 3:00pm-5:00pm. FREE with park admission.
5pm-6pm Campground Trick-or-Treating
Meet at 5pm at the Campground Shower Building where we’ll start our walk around the campground.  Campers - have your treats ready for the kids walking by.  For those passing out candy, be sure to post your "Trick or Treaters Welcome Here" sign that's available at the Campground Host site.  Open to the public, and parking is available at the campground entrance. No vehicle traffic allowed through the campground from 4:30pm-6:30pm.
7pm-8pm Campsite Judging
Decorate your campsites and/or display your carved or decorated pumpkins. Judges will tour the campground to evaluate your creations. We'll select the top three winners, each chosen for its originality, creativity, and spookiness.

10am Winners List
We’ll post the winners of the campsite and pumpkin decorating contest on the Campground Shower Building Bulletin Board. Winners, if we don’t catch you at your campsite to give you your prize, make sure to stop by the Visitor Center and pick it up!
