Early Childhood Educator Workshop, Andrews
Start Date: 7/20/2019Start Time: 9:00 AM
End Date: 7/20/2019End Time: 3:00 PM
Event Description:

Project WET and Project WILD, national early childhood environmental education programs,
invite you to explore and share the fascinating world of wildlife and ecosystems using fun, hands-on educational activities. Learn how to teach conservation to children through a professional development workshop.

During this workshop, participants will be introduced to Growing Up WILD and Getting Little Feet WET. Growing Up WILD is one of Project WILD's curriculum guides designed to build on children's sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Getting Little Feet WET is Project WET's new early childhood development curriculum guide. This workshop will help educators provide an early foundation for developing positive impressions about nature and lifelong social and academic skills to children ages 3-7. Both curriculum activity guides are correlated to Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation. Several of the 38 activities involve children directly exploring nature outdoors.

Workshop participants will receive:

  • Growing Up WILD Educator Guide,
  • Getting Little Feet WET Educator Guide,
  • Six contact hours that can be applied towards Teacher’s Professional Growth Plan (PGP),
  • Certificate of completion in Early Childhood Educator workshop,
  • Indiana-specific resources,
  • And more!

Anyone who works with children, including teachers, homeschoolers, informal educators, and scout leaders are welcome. This workshop is tailored to educate children ages 3-7.

Pre-registration is required to attend.
At the workshop, please wear comfortable shoes and clothing as you might go outside for activities.

Lunch is not provided; please bring your own snacks and/or refreshments.

Cost: $20.00
