Myaamia (Miami Indian) Traditional Plant Knowledge, Chain O'Lakes State Park

Event Description:
Come learn with Miami Tribal member and Plant Tradition Bearer, Dani Tippmann, about Miami traditional plant usage. She will be discussing the many different wild plants and how they were & are used by the Miami People as food, medicines, and technology.  There will be a display of cattail duck decoys and a discussion of how they are made & used. Depending upon the weather, we may look at plants where they grow and discuss their traditional use by Miami Native Americans. 1.5 hours

This program will be held outside at the historic Stanley Schoolhouse so please dress appropriately and bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
