Flying WILD Educator Workshop

May 21, 2019 from 10:00AM – 4:00PM

Learn to share conservation with students: Professional Development for anyone who works with children.
Project WILD invites you to explore and share the fascinating world of wildlife and ecosystems using fun, hands-on educational activities. You will experience engaging Common Core Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and Indiana Academic Standards-aligned activities while networking with other educators.
During this workshop, participants will be introduced to Flying WILD an award winning bird conservation program. Flying WILD offers a whole-school approach to environmental education. With widely adaptable activities, Flying WILD provides practical hands-on classroom and outdoor field investigation connecting real-world experiences in bird biology, conservation, and natural history. This interactive workshop will focus on Indiana birds. Flying WILD is inter-disciplinary and can be integrated into any school subject.

Workshop participants will receive:
• Flying WILD Guide
• 6 hours of professional development that can be applied towards Teacher’s Professional Growth Experience Points
• Indiana-specific resources
• Certificate of workshop completion

Cost: $20.00
Check or money order due at the workshop. Please make checks payable to Indiana Natural Resources Foundation.

Anyone who works with children (teachers, homeschoolers, informal educators, scout leaders, and more) are welcome to attend.
• Wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing
• Please bring your lunch
• Pre-registration is required
• Check or money order due the day of the workshop

Registration fee is for WILD training. WILD materials are distributed only with requisite hours of training. Attendance and participation in the entire workshop are required to receive any of the materials, regardless of fee payment.
