Olin Lake Nature Preserve Guided Hike, LaGrange County

Event Description:

Olin Lake is the largest lake in Indiana with an entirely undeveloped shoreline.

This nature preserve helps protect an example of a rich remnant of a vast post-glacial lake system and wetlands in Indiana’s Northern Lakes Natural Region. 

The clear water is surrounded by trees and vegetation including tamaracks. Native wildflowers are in full display during the spring and can be views from the 1.5 miles of walking trails around the preserve.

Directions: From Wolcottville, go north 2 miles on SR 9. Turn left on CR 600S. Proceed 2 miles, then turn right on CR 125E and go north 0.5 mile to a marked parking lot. A hiking trail leads to the lakeshore.

Wear appropriate clothing and footwear, bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray.

Bring binoculars and a hand lens, if you have them.

No restroom facilities.
