End Date: 5/4/2019End Time: 3:30 PM
Event Description:
Park visitors are invited to learn with Miami Tribal member and Plant Tradition Bearer, Dani Tippmann, about Miami traditional plant usage.  In the first of three programs visitors will learn Myaamia (Miami Indian) plant knowledge from observing, handling, and tasting the cattail roots and pollen for use as traditional Myaamia food. They will also learn how Myaamia people respect the plant and its environment, the proper cultural way to approach a plant and how to begin to form a relationship with it. Visitors will engage another sense when they experience the cattail through taste!

This program will be held outside at the historic Stanley Schoolhouse so please dress appropriately.
