End Date: 3/24/2019End Time: 4:00 PM
Event Description:

Did life evolve from the shoreline and spread downward as many believe? Or did it start at the depths around volcanic vents and spread upward? Dominique Hansen will discuss the geology of the ocean and its role in our understanding of life that ultimately inhabited Earth's landscape. Her presentation will give you a new perspective on the rise of life in the ocean.

Part of our program series "Marine Life of Today and Yesterday." Dr. Hansen is a graduate of James Cook University in Queensland, Australia, with extensive experience diving and researching coral reefs. Program is free with regular Interpretive Center admission.
