DNR campgrounds and cabins at state parks, state reservoirs and state recreation areas are booked to capacity for Memorial Day weekend.

For picnics and other day-use gatherings, shelters at locations statewide remain available.

If you’re looking for a road trip, but not sure where to go, find property maps and facility information at stateparks.IN.gov.

No matter where you go, there will be plenty to do. Collectively, Indiana State Parks properties have more than 700 miles of trails, 160 playgrounds, six saddle barns for horseback rides, and more. Each property will have educational programs Memorial Day weekend with interpretive naturalists, too. A list of programs is at calendar.dnr.IN.gov.

Visitors should be aware that some properties are experiencing flooding currently.

Beaches are closed at Lieber State Recreation Area (SRA) on Cagles Mill Lake, Raccoon SRA on Cecil M. Harden Lake, Paynetown and Fairfax SRAs on Monroe Lake, and at Salamonie, Mississinewa and Patoka lakes.

At affected lakes, boaters should use caution and watch out for floating debris. Additionally, some boat ramps are closed.

For more information on affected boat ramps and other closures and advisories, see StateParks.IN.gov/7881.htm.

Advisories are subject to change depending on the weather.

Cabins and campsites are still available throughout the summer and fall. Don’t delay in making your reservation at Camp.IN.gov, or call 1-866-6CAMPIN (1-866-622-6746).

If you already have a reservation, please check out the DNR firewood rule at firewood.dnr.IN.gov and “Buy it where you Burn it.”
