May 20 is a Free Fishing Day in Indiana
Start Date: 5/18/2017 All Day
Event Description:

Hoosier adults can fish for free in Indiana on May 20.

Additional Free Fishing Days in 2017 are June 3-4. On these special days, Indiana residents who are age 18 and older can fish public waters without needing a fishing license or a trout stamp.

Free Fishing Days are an opportunity to take someone fishing who doesn’t have a license. They are also a great time to teach families to fish because adults don't need a license on those days, and kids younger than age 18 never need a license.

The DNR Go FishIN program will offer free Family Learn to Fish Workshops in Avon, Indianapolis, Lafayette, Mitchell and Richmond on May 20. In these three-hour workshops, attendees will learn basic fishing skills so they can fish on their own.

Also on May 20, city, county and state parks will host fishing events and derbies. For more information, see GoFishin.IN.gov.
