[DNR] Bluebird box workshop at Potato Creek SP, Feb. 23

Event Description
Help provide nesting habitat for an Eastern bluebird at a bluebird nest box workshop at Potato Creek State Park on Feb. 23.

These songsters of fields and meadows suffer from a lack of natural nesting cavities.

The workshop runs from 1 to 4 p.m. in the nature center. Workshop participants will build a Peterson-style nest box for their home and learn where to place it and how to manage it.

Workshop participants who don’t have a rural setting for their nest box can donate it to the park for use on its bluebird trail.

The number of nesting-box kits is limited, and advance registration is recommended. The fee for the workshop materials is $20, and the regular park admission fee of $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle will apply.
