Bald Eagle Driving Tour at Monroe Lake

Advance Registration thru Thursday, January 23
$5 for Adults, $3 for Children (17 and under)
Purchase Monday thru Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
…over the phone (credit/debit only) at 812-837-9546.
…in person (cash/check/credit/debit) at the Monroe Lake office, 4850 S. State Road 446, Bloomington, IN 47401.

Walk-Up Registration on Sunday, January 26
$7 for Adults, $4 for Children (17 and under)
Purchase at the event from 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
…at the shelter in front of the Activity Center at Paynetown SRA (next to beach).
…walk-up registration is CASH or CHECK only (NO credit/debit accepted). An ATM is available across the street from Paynetown SRA inside the Fishin’ Shedd.  


1 to 3 p.m.: Check-in/Registration OPEN in front of Activity Center (Paynetown SRA)
There will be TWO separate check-in stations – one for advance registrants and one for walk-up registrants.
     All registrants will receive a collectible event button which must be worn when visiting the tour stops and the warming station!
Make sure you pick up your tour stop map and a winter bird check-list!

1 to 4 p.m.: Warming Station OPEN inside Activity Center (Paynetown SRA)
Complimentary hot cocoa or tea and cookies for tour participants! (Help us be more eco-friendly by bringing your own travel mug to use!)
Info tables presented by Sassafras Audubon Society and the International Crane Foundation.
Eagle crafts available to make.

2 to 4 p.m.: Bald Eagle Driving Tour Stops OPEN, multiple locations
     YOU MUST CHECK-IN/REGISTER BEFORE STARTING THE TOUR! Attendees will be given a collectable event button at registration which must be worn when visiting tour stops.
     This is a SELF-GUIDED driving tour; you must provide your own transportation. Tour maps will be handed out at check-in/registration.
     You may visit tour stops in any order; they will all be staffed from 2 to 4 p.m.
     Tour includes six viewing locations along the lake shoreline, each one staffed with experienced birders. Spotting scopes will be set up for you to look through and binoculars available for use.
     Bonus stop: LIVE RAPTORS! Hardy Lake is bringing live birds of prey for you to see up close – including a bald eagle. The easiest way to guarantee that you see an eagle!

*** The Fourwinds Lakeside Inn, located inside Fairfax SRA at Monroe Lake, is offering a special lodging rate of $69 for a lake view room for event attendees on the night of Sat., January 25. You must reserve your room by January 18 at 812-824-2628 and tell them you are coming for the eagle tour. ***
