CANCELLED: Winter Hike Series: 10 O'Clock Line Nature Preserve Hike, Brown County State Park
Start Date: 3/28/2020Start Time: 11:00 AM
End Date: 3/28/2020End Time: 1:00 PM
Event Description:
**We want our guests and staff have safe and memorable outdoor experiences at our park in light of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) This event is cancelled or the location is modified to comply with the guidance for gatherings provided by the Indiana State Department of Health or our local county health department. We regret that we must make this decision, but will err on the side of caution, given that we know the spread of this virus comes from close personal contact and it is critical to limit that spread. The park remains open for public use, and we invite you to come and take a hike, spend a night under the stars camping, or have a picnic lunch. You Must Register for this HIKE!

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we must limit this hike to 50 people. Please Register using the icon in the upper right hand corner. Thanks for your understanding in this tough time.

11am - Meet at the Nature Center for this hike where we will get together before carpooling to the trailhead and heading out along a fire trail towards the 10 O'Clock Line Nature Preserve. This is the largest nature preserve in the state and has quite the unique story. After about 1 mile on the fire trail we will meet up with Horse Trail B for a hike around the Nature Preserve. After hiking a bit, we will then hike back to the trailhead. The distance for this hike is approximately 2.5 miles and will last about 2 hours. This hike is moderately rated, so be sure to dress for the weather and bring those hiking boots.

Advanced registration is not necessary and there is no limit on attendance, so feel free to get your group together and come along for this exciting hike. Dogs are more than welcome to join us as long as they are on a 6 foot leash and get along well with other dogs and humans alike. Please be sure to dress for the weather and wear proper footwear for these hikes.  In extreme weather conditions cancellations may be necessary, but we will go in the snow. Check our website and Facebook for conditions and cancellation information.
