Description:

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is proposing the use of federal and state funds to restore a wetland and associated canals that were inundated with sand during a flooding event and embankment failure at Kankakee FWA. The flooding event took place along the Yellow River in early 2018. The project will involve removal of an estimated average of three feet of sand over approximately 6.4 acres by mechanical means.

The Division of Fish and Wildlife wishes to solicit comments about any potential impacts to environmental, cultural, and historical resources.
