Event Description:

Getting Little Feet WET & Growing Up WILD Educator Workshop

Explore and share the fascinating world of water and natural resources using fun, hands-on educational activities. Learn how to teach conservation to children through a professional development workshop. Using interdisciplinary, hands-on activities, this interactive workshop will offer ways for educators to introduce their students (ages 3-7) to nature. Gain ideas to build on your young students' sense of wonder about nature and be comfortable replicating workshop activities in your own education settings.

Activities are correlated to Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation. The purpose of this workshop is to help educators provide an early foundation for developing positive impressions about nature and lifelong social and academic skills to children ages 3-7.

Workshop participants will receive:

  • Getting Little Feet WET Educator Guide,
  • Growing Up WILD Educator Guide,
  • Six contact hours that can be applied towards Teacher’s Professional Growth Plan (PGP),
  • Certificate of workshop completion in Early Childhood Development,
  • Indiana-specific resources,
  • And more!

Anyone who works with children, including teachers, homeschoolers, non-formal educators, and scout leaders are welcome!

Pre-registration is required to attend. At the workshop, please wear comfortable shoes and clothing as you might go outside for activities. Lunch is not provided, please bring your own packed lunch and water bottle. We will have an hour lunch break to leave and come back.

Cost: $25.00
