Rehab & ADA standards

Three projects are to rehabilitate existing public access sites that are in need of repair and to ensure that the sites are compliant with ADA standards. For one of the rehabilitation sites (Henderson Ford), a new prefabricated concrete boat ramp will replace the existing boat ramp and an ADA concrete parking pad will be installed. The Henderson Ford public access rehabilitation will ensure access to the White River in Morgan County. For two of the rehab projects (Oakdale Dam and Syracuse Lake), asphalt parking is already in place and only concrete boat ramps will be installed to replace existing access. Oakdale Dam, located in Carroll County, will provide access to the Tippecanoe River and the Syracuse Lake rehab will provide access to Syracuse Lake in Kosciusko County.

Three of the new construction projects will involve the construction of both new concrete boat ramps and ADA-accessible parking pads. The Gosport project in Owen County would provide new access to the White River and ADA-accessible parking. A larger gravel parking lot and turn-around will also be constructed. In Dubois County, the Patoka Tailwaters project will provide new access to the Patoka River, including a new concrete boat ramp, ADA parking, a larger gravel parking lot and turn-around, and a new gravel access road. The Thousand Islands project, located in Greene County at Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area, would construct a new concrete boat ramp and ADA parking lot; a gravel parking lot is already in place at this site.

One project (Center Lake) would involve the construction of a prefabricated concrete boat ramp and an ADA transfer pier. Located in Wayne County on a preexisting asphalt parking lot, this new boat ramp and transfer pier would provide access to Center Lake.

One project (Connersville) in Fayette County would construct a new prefabricated concrete canoe access ramp to the Whitewater River. A new ADA concrete parking pad, a larger gravel lot and gravel turn-around, and a new gravel access road will also be constructed.
