$40,000 Planning Grant to the Town of Grandview

Indianapolis – Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann has awarded a $40,000 planning grant to the town of Grandview for a water and wastewater plan through the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

“We are pleased to support the planning grant to begin the process of addressing the wastewater issues experienced by the town of Grandview,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “By taking this step, Grandview is on the path to improving quality of life and opportunities for growth.”

The planning grant for the town of Grandview will prepare a detailed inventory of existing facilities, and their condition, as well as needs related to health and safety concerns with the existing system. An implementation plan will be presented which will outline the most cost effective procedures to expedite the project.

The funding comes from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which has proven to be an effective tool for community-based planning and research initiatives. The CDBG program is administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

Indianapolis – Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann has awarded a $39,100 planning grant to the town of Kirklin for a comprehensive economic development plan through the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

“Planning grants are an important first step as communities consider the best way to attract new businesses,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “By seeking to improve community amenities the town of Kirklin is on the path to economic growth.”

The planning grant for the town of Kirklin will be used to identify the community’s needs as well as provide options which prioritize the direction of future growth.

Indianapolis – Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann has awarded a $39,500 planning grant to the town of Waynetown for a water utility and storm water master plan through the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

“Planning grants are an important first step as communities look for ways to improve their basic infrastructure,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “We are pleased to be able to support the grant request from the town of Waynetown as it continues its efforts to improve services for residents.”

The planning grant for the town of Waynetown will be used to proactively complete projects to sustain the water utility and provide adequate storm water drainage for residents.

Indianapolis – Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann has awarded a $15,000 planning grant to the city of Rushville for a public library feasibility study through the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

“Planning grants are an important first step as communities consider the best way to attract new businesses,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “The city of Rushville continues its efforts to improve services for its residents, and we are pleased to be able to support their grant request.”

The planning grant for the city of Rushville is to provide an analysis of the current facility and assess the condition of all functional and structural systems and materials. It will also analyze existing library programs and project future needs.

Indianapolis – Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann has awarded a $30,000 planning grant to the town of Fairland for a storm water utility study through the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

“Planning grants are a key first step as communities consider the best way to attract new businesses,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “Infrastructure improvements are an important foundation for economic growth, and we are pleased to support the grant request from the town of Fairland.”

The planning grant for the town of Fairland will be used to evaluate the town’s existing storm water system and identify improvements to correct the most serious drainage problems as well as create drainage in critical areas.

Indianapolis – Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann has awarded a $40,000 planning grant to the town of Eaton for a sewer and storm water improvements study through the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

“Improving infrastructure is one way communities can attract new business,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “The town of Eaton has taken an important step on the path to economic growth, and we are pleased to support the grant request.”

The planning grant for the town of Eaton will outline alternatives to correct combined sewer overflow issues in an effort to comply with the Agreed Order issued by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for untreated combined sewer overflow discharges into the Mississinewa River.
