Fire investigation in Howard County leads to two arrests
Following an investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Howard County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two individuals in connection with a fire on June 6 that destroyed the home at 1509 S. Cooper Street in Kokomo.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is a division of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
Tamara Reed was arrested at her trailer home on Wednesday, October 10 on Class C felony charges of arson with intent to defraud and conspiracy to commit arson with the intent to defraud.
The following Monday, October 15, her husband, Scott Reed, was arrested on Class C felony charges of conspiracy to commit arson and aiding, inducing or causing arson.
Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office fire investigators determined that the June 6 fire that resulted in an estimated $50,000 in structural damage and $25,000 in content loss was intentionally set.
An investigation conducted by the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Howard County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the arrests.
