{INDOT} US 6 Lane Restriction in Elkhart County Begins Friday, October 12

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces US 6 lane restrictions are scheduled to begin Friday, October 12, on the small structure over Kiefer Ditch, between CR 25 and CR 127, approximately 2 miles east of SR 15 in Elkhart County. Traffic will be intermittently restricted to one lane in alternating directions, controlled by flaggers, as a temporary runaround is constructed on the south side of US 6. The runaround will be used during replacement of the Kiefer Ditch small structure, for which construction is scheduled to begin in spring of 2013.

INDOT reminds drivers that intermittent lane restrictions between SR 13 and CR 43, near the Elkhart/Noble county line, continue as a runaround on the north side of US 6 is built for use during replacement of the Blue Ditch small structure in that location.

The intermittent lane restrictions for runaround construction at both locations are expected to be complete by November 22, 2012.
