[IEDC] Business Service Provider to Relocate its Operational Headquarters to Fishers
Start Date: 9/18/2012 All Day
End Date: 9/18/2012
Entry Description

FISHERS, Ind. (Sept. 18, 2012) – First Advantage, a provider of talent acquisition and electronic data solutions, announced plans today that it will relocate its operational headquarters from St. Petersburg, Fla. to here, creating up to 100 new jobs by 2015.

The company, which provides business services to assist with talent acquisition decision making and processes, will invest $3.7 million to renovate its current 44,000 square-foot facility located at 9800 Crosspoint Blvd. in Fishers. As part of the project, First Advantage plans to begin installing new information technology equipment and computer software in the coming months.

“Again Indiana has come away the winner in a worldwide competition for this headquarters and the 100 new jobs that come with it. Companies all over the country are choosing the Hoosier State as the right place to centralize and more efficiently run their businesses,” said Dan Hasler, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

First Advantage, which currently employs more than 200 Hoosiers in Fishers, will begin hiring new associates immediately. The new positions will be across the company, including information technology, business operations, sales and client services. Interested candidates can apply at job fairs being conducted at the company’s Fishers location on September 19 and 20 from 4 p.m. through 8 p.m.

“First Advantage is increasing our investment in the metro Indianapolis area to take advantage of the excellent business environment the region offers,” said Jack Freker, chief executive officer of First Advantage. “By bringing together many key business functions and relocating our operational headquarters here, we’re setting the stage for fulfilling our aggressive growth strategy. We look forward to building our presence in the Indianapolis community and beginning an exciting new chapter for First Advantage.”

Founded in 2003, the company was established as a provider of background investigations and substance abuse testing services. First Advantage, which is now owned by the private equity firm Symphony Technology Group, provides an array of business services including recruiting, applicant tracking, screening and assessment and hiring tax credits.
In addition, the company supports thousands of clients globally through its international facilities in the U.K. and Asia Pacific.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered First Advantage
up to $1,800,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The town of Fishers is offering additional incentives.

“There is no doubt that First Advantage has become an integral member of the Fishers business community,” said John Weingardt, member of the Fishers town council. “Their job investment and operational headquarters relocation are a testament to the many advantages of doing business in Fishers.”

Since the creation of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation in 2005, more than 210 companies have located or expanded their headquarters in the Hoosier State, bringing more than 31,000 new jobs and more than $2.7 billion in new capital investment.

The IEDC oversees programs enacted by the General Assembly including tax credits, workforce training grants and public infrastructure assistance. All tax credits are performance-based. Therefore, companies must first invest in Indiana through job creation or capital investment before incentives are paid. A company who does not meet its full projections only receives a percentage of the incentives proportional to its actual investment. For more information about IEDC, visit
