[DCS] DCS to Host Regional Job Fair in Evansville: Employment Open House Dec. 12
Start Date: 12/5/2013Start Time: 12:00 AM
End Date: 12/5/2013End Time: 11:59 PM
Entry Description

EVANSVILLE, IND. (Dec. 5, 2013)—The Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) will host an employment open house in Vanderburgh County on December 12 to recruit qualified social work professionals for the county and surrounding areas. Positions available include family case managers to investigate reports of abuse and neglect and intake specialists to staff a new child abuse and neglect hotline office. This employment open house will be the fifth event DCS has hosted this year throughout Indiana.

“Governor Pence remains dedicated to providing the best support for Indiana families and children. However, as the need continues to grow, so will we,” said DCS Director of Human Resources, Dr. Roxanna Johnson. “Qualified professionals that want to make a difference for Indiana families in crisis are encouraged to attend.”

The new child abuse and neglect hotline office is being opened in response to growing caseloads of child abuse and neglect across the state. The hotline will be staffed 24/7 and will serve as the reporting center for all allegations of child abuse or neglect. Hotline personnel are always the first in line to receive a report of child maltreatment. Intake specialists will gather information from callers, determine whether the information provided meets the criteria for DCS to conduct an assessment, and, if appropriate, send reports directly to local family case managers for response and assessment.

Interested candidates should pre-register and apply for this event no later than Tuesday, Dec. 10 at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/dcsjobfair0213 and the State of Indiana Job Bank at www.in.gov/spd. Search Job ID 587311. Candidates should also bring a copy of their resume to the job fair. Interviews will be conducted on site with qualified applicants.

The employment open house will be at the Vanderburgh County DCS office, 100 E. Sycamore Street in Evansville, from 10 am to 2 pm (CST) on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013.
