Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann to Address the Rural Summit

Indianapolis - Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann, Richard Longworth and Jack Hess are the featured speakers at the Indiana Rural Summit 2013, which will be held this year on October 3rd and 4th at the Sheraton Indianapolis at Keystone Crossing, Indianapolis.

In its 7th year, the Indiana Rural Summit is where Indiana’s business, economic development, education and philanthropic sectors gather to discuss ideas for advancing rural Indiana.

Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann will close the second day of the Rural Summit by outlining the opportunities available for Indiana’s rural communities.

“We are making great strides in rural Indiana.  Challenges remain, but I’m confident that by working together we can ensure that rural Indiana will thrive throughout the 21st century,” said Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann.

Day one of the summit will feature renowned author, Richard Longworth, author of Caught in the Middle: American’s Heartland in the Age of Globalism.  Longworth will challenge attendees to confront the reality of today’s rural dynamics and what this means for policy makers.

Jack Hess, executive director of the Institute of Coalition Building, will kick off day two of the Rural Summit.  The institute helps communities across the country build coalitions to solve their most important challenges.

The Indiana Rural Summit is a collaborative effort of the Indiana Rural Roundtable, a network representing businesses, organizations and institutions which are committed to the advancement of Indiana’s rural communities.
