[ISP] New Castle Man Arrested for Meth
Start Date: 8/13/2013Start Time: 12:00 AM
End Date: 8/13/2013End Time: 11:59 PM
Entry Description

New Castle – Last night (8/12/13) shortly before 9 p.m. members of the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad along with the Shirley Police Department K-9 Unit served a search warrant on a home at 1311 So.17th St in New Castle. The warrant was the result of an ongoing meth investigation. When officers entered the home they found a meth lab, but no suspect.

Shortly before 11 p.m., as officers were cleaning up the lab, they observed the home owner drive by in his pickup. Officers were able to follow him and get him stopped in the area of “M” St. and Roosevelt Ave. where he was taken into custody without incident.

Arrested was Stacy Mills, age 50, charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony, along with four Class “D” Felonies; Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors, Possession of a Syringe and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.

Officers were assisted in the investigation by the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office and the Henry County Drug Task Force. Often times Meth Labs are found as a result of an anonymous tip from a neighbor or friend.

Signs to look for Meth manufacturing are a strong ammonia or solvent smell like an auto body shop. Look for rubber tubing, ether or camp fuel cans, plastic bottles with white residue, Pseudoephedrine packages, lithium battery casings, and propane tanks with a blue or green discoloration around the valve.

Anyone with information about illegal drug use may call the Pendleton Post at 1-800-527-4752, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous. The Indiana Meth Investigation System or IMIS, can also take tips on meth labs. Just go to and click on the “Report Suspected Meth Activity” Link.
