STATEHOUSE (Aug. 5, 2013) — Roads, bridges and highways in Putnam County will benefit from a $1,555,308 funding increase over current levels throughout the next two years, according to local lawmakers State Sens. Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) and Pete Miller (R-Avon).

In the new state budget, local governments in Putnam County are slated to receive an estimated $6,151,522 in total road funding.

During the 2013 legislative session, the General Assembly passed the fiscal year 2014-2015 state budget, which increased transportation funding statewide by $210 million per year. This includes $100 million for local units each year.
