Entry Description

STATEHOUSE (July 3, 2013) — State Sen. Ron Grooms (R-Jeffersonville) encourages Clark and Floyd County residents to share their thoughts on the Ohio River Bridges Project and potential tolling decisions by attending upcoming public outreach meetings.

“Once complete, the Ohio River Bridges Project will be an important economic development tool that will fuel business growth and create jobs in Southeast Indiana,” Grooms said. “As we move forward with the project, we need to consider the impact on our families, businesses and visitors, especially when it comes to potential tolling. Your input on this issue is vital.”

The Ohio River Bridges Project open house meetings will be:

When: Monday, July 22, 4-7 p.m.
Where: Holiday Inn Clarksville, 505 Marriott Dr., Clarksville

When:
Tuesday, July 23, 4-7 p.m.
Where: Kentucky Center for African-American Heritage, 1701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd., Louisville

For those who cannot attend the meetings, please send comments and concerns to Senator.Grooms@iga.in.gov or call his Senate office at 800-382-9467. You can also submit remarks to the Ohio River Bridges Project website by clicking here.

Final tolling decisions will be determined this September by the formal Tolling Body, comprised of three representatives from Indiana and three from Kentucky. “One of my goals is to make sure we get relief for those who can least afford tolling,” Grooms said. “I look forward to getting feedback from the community.”
