Learning about archaeology in your community.  Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology (DHPA) Senior Archaeologist Amy Johnson will present “Archaeology in Your Community.”  This presentation will cover: myths and realities regarding archaeology; what is happening in Indiana in terms of archaeology today; how the public can be involved in archaeology; the DHPA (part of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources) and how they serve the public; the archaeological laws which protect sites; information about responsible collecting of archaeological artifacts; a brief discussion of archaeology which has been conducted in Kosciusko County, and more.
