INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Mike Pence today appointed student trustees to Ball State University, the University  of Southern Indiana, and Vincennes University. 

“The students named today to our state universities’ boards of trustees represent some of Indiana’s best and brightest,” said Governor Pence. “Their insights, experience and guidance, coupled with those of their fellow trustees, will further enrich higher education in Indiana and will benefit each state university accordingly throughout the duration of their terms.”  

Entering his sophomore year, Kyle Pierce will serve as student trustee on the Ball State University Board of Trustees. Pierce, of Fishers, is majoring in political science and pre-law and is active within the Student Government Association, serving as a Student Senator. He also served on the Freshmen Leadership Council. A member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, Pierce also serves on the Interfraternity Council, where he helps to make decisions regarding both his fraternity and the Greek community as a whole at Ball State. Pierce will serve as Ball State student trustee for two years, effective July 1, 2013. 

Brenden Davidson, of Worthington, has been appointed to the University of Southern Indiana Board of Trustees. Davidson, entering his third year at USI, serves as a University Court Justice and previously served as a Representative-At-Large within the Student Government Association. In addition, he has held a variety of positions within Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity including President, Scholastic Chairman, member of the Executive Committee, and International General Assembly Delegate. He also serves on the USI Interfraterntiy Council as Senior Delegate. Davidson is a Presidential Scholar at USI and was valedictorian of the White River Valley Jr./Sr. High School Class of 2011. Effective July 1, 2013, Davidson will serve as student trustee at USI for two years.  

Former Indiana FFA State President Casie Conley has been named student trustee on the Vincennes University Board of Trustees. Conley, of Knightstown, worked full-time for the Indiana FFA Organization for one year following high school graduation. In this role, she served nearly 10,000 FFA members across Indiana. Entering her sophomore year, Conley is majoring in public relations. At Vincennes, she serves as a tour guide for the Admissions Office, a Representative for the Student Government Association, a Collegiate FFA/Farm Bureau Officer, and as a member of the speech team. She will serve a one-year term as student trustee, effective July 1, 2013.
