SPECIAL HEARING ON THE LOCAL PETITIONERS REQUEST TO INSTALL A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF S.R. 66 AND ORCHARD ROAD IN ROCKPORT, SPENCER COUNTY

The Indiana Department of Transportation will hold a special hearing on Tuesday,
June 4, 2013 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm (local time) in the South Spencer High School Auditorium, 1142 North County Road 275 West in Rockport, Indiana.


Under Indiana Code 9-21-3-2, the purpose of this special hearing is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to meet with INDOT officials and provide comment regarding the local petitioners request to install a traffic signal at the S.R. 66 and Orchard Road intersection in Rockport, Spencer County. During this special hearing, community members are encouraged to participate by expressing comments verbally during a formal comment session, and/or by submitting comments via a comment form. INDOT is soliciting public comment through Friday, June 21, 2013.

During this special hearing, verbal comments presented during the comment session will be recorded and entered into public record via an official hearings transcript. Written comments submitted any time during the hearing as well as those submitted during the public comment period (ending 6/21/13) will also be entered into the hearings transcript. This transcript will be reviewed, evaluated and given full consideration as part of the INDOT decision making process. It is anticipated that INDOT will render a decision regarding the local petitioners request by summer 2013.
