Indianapolis, IN - Governor Mike Pence today named three new board members to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC): Angela Braly, Jim Schellinger, and Rick Johnson.

Braly most recently served as president and CEO of WellPoint, Inc. WellPoint is the nation's largest health benefits company and is headquartered in Indianapolis. Prior to her work at WellPoint, Braly was the president and CEO of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri. She was named one of the "World's Most Powerful Women" in Forbes' annual ranking in 2008. Braly received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University, and her law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law.

"An expert in her field, Angela Braly brings to the table an extensive background in the health insurance industry," said the Governor. "Her corporate leadership and national reputation will help us tell Indiana's story both nationally and internationally in the coming years."

Schellinger, of Indianapolis, serves as Chairman/CEO of CSO Architects, a position he's held since 1996. There, he has represented projects including The Indianapolis Airport, JW Marriott Complex, and several local educational facilities. In the past, he was recognized as a top "40 Under 40" by the Indianapolis Business Journal and was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash in 2005. Schellinger earned his undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame, a degree in functional design from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and attended the Harvard University Graduate School of Design for Planning and Designing Educational Facilities.

"A widely respected business leader, Jim Schellinger has a proven record of leadership and a broad range of skills to further Indiana's economic development successes," said Governor Pence. "I am thrilled to have him on board as we work to bring jobs and opportunities to Hoosiers all across our state."

Johnson is a native of Columbus, Indiana, and is the president and CEO of Johnson Ventures, Inc. He has served on several boards in Indianapolis, including Johnson Charitable Foundation, Inc., the Community Education Coalition, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Kelley School of Business and the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship. He was named to the Indiana University Foundation Board of Directors in 2011. Johnson earned his undergraduate degree at Indiana University.

Governor Pence said, "Rick Johnson is a homegrown Hoosier whose expertise as both a business and community leader, coupled with his energy and entrepreneurial spirit, will serve Indiana and Hoosiers well in the years ahead."
