‘Ask the Expert’ session provides last-minute financial aid help

This Saturday, Learn More Indiana will provide person-to-person support to families and students scrambling to make final corrections to their financial aid forms. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the form that qualifies students to receive financial aid from colleges, the State of Indiana, the federal government and other sources, was due March 10 but students have until May 15 to correct any issues.

“Every year, some students miss out on thousands of dollars of financial aid because they accidentally selected the wrong state or made another small mistake on their FAFSAs,” said Teresa Lubbers, Indiana’s Commissioner for Higher Education. “No question is too small or too silly. I urge families to take advantage of this free opportunity.”

The ‘Ask the Expert’ session will take place online and on the phone on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. (EST). The experts can be reached on the phone at 1-800-992-2076, via email at fafsa@learnmore.org or on Facebook at Facebook.com/LearnMoreIN.

The session is part of Learn More Indiana’s annual Cash for College initiative, which helps families and students connect to resources for paying for college at any age. Learn more at CashForCollegeIndiana.org.
