[s41] Sen. Walker Welcomes Local Students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (April 19, 2013) – State Sen. Greg Walker (R-Columbus) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse as Senate pages:

• Haley Briggs, from Nineveh, attends Indian Creek Middle School.
• Cameron Fathauer, from Columbus, attends Columbus North High School.
• David Gant, a home school student from Columbus.
• Kayleigh Hadley, from Nineveh, attends Indian Creek Middle School.
• Holly Hayes, from Greenwood, attends Greenwood Middle School.
• Clara Haywood, from Nineveh, attends Indian Creek Middle School.
• Savannah Kellams, from Franklin, attends Edinburgh Middle School.
• Emma Miranda, from Columbus, attends Columbus Signature Academy.
• Dietrich Smith, from Hope, attends Houser High School.
• Kevin Stucker, from Franklin, attends Clark Pleasant Middle School.
• Kyle Stucker, from Franklin, attends Whiteland Community High School.
• Andrew Walker, a home school student from Columbus.
• Kaiya Wolf, from Columbus, attends Columbus Signature Academy.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing some debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.

“Meeting and interacting with students from our district is always one of the highlights of my day,” Walker said. “Pages witness legislative action up close because they are welcomed onto the Senate floor. This is a unique educational experience for students, and I’m glad that I get to be part of it for students across our district.”
