Entry Description

STATEHOUSE – State Representative Suzanne Crouch (R-Evansville) authored a resolution today recognizing Bob Kraft, a former Evansville teacher and principal, on his retirement from serving as President of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

“Bob is an icon in the Evansville education community,” said Rep. Crouch. “The dedication and commitment he has shown to our local children over the years is incredible.”

Mr. Kraft taught math and social studies for 10 years at Plaza Park Middle School.
After a decade of teaching, he went on to serve as principal at Perry Heights Middle School for 17 years. During his time as principal, Perry Heights was designated as a Four Star school, excelling in both academics and athletics.

After serving 17 years at Perry Heights, Mr. Kraft became the principal at Scott Elementary School. Scott Elementary was also designated as a Four Star school during his time as principal.

“Bob has a track record of success wherever he has gone,” said Rep. Crouch. “As a teacher and a principal, he has left a lasting impact on the young people of our community. His service to the children of Evansville will not soon be forgotten.”

After retiring from Scott Elementary in 1996, Mr. Kraft remained active in the education community. For the past two years, he has served as President of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

Rep. Crouch’s resolution passed the House with a unanimous voice vote.
