[ISP] Three Traffic Stops Result in Four Arrests

Yesterday, just after 11 a.m. trooper Aaron Edwards was patrolling on west National Road in Richmond in front of Earlham College when he clocked a west bound Chevrolet truck in excess of the 30 M.P.H. speed limit. He stopped the vehicle at NW 13th and National Road.

Further investigation found a nearly empty bottle of vodka and the driver under the influence. The driver, Amy Jo Gillem, age 38 of Richmond, was transported to the Wayne County Jail where she tested twice the legal limit. She was lodged for Operating While Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction, Class “D” Felony. In addition she was charged with Driving While License Suspended with Prior Conviction, Class “A” Misdemeanor.

Last night around 6:10 p.m. Trooper Rick Shoemaker stopped a GMC Envoy on US 27 at Paddock Street in Liberty for the passenger not wearing his seatbelt. Further investigation revealed the driver and passenger possessed marijuana.

Arrested was the driver, Keaton Alvey, age 19 of Liberty and his passenger Logan Ratliff, age 18 of College Corner. Both were charged with Possession of Marijuana under 30 Grams, Class “A” Misdemeanor.

Last night around 10:15 p.m. Pendleton Trooper Jason Girt was patrolling I-69 when he stopped a south bound Dodge Magnum around the 222 mile marker for speeding. Further investigation revealed a back seat passenger, Zachary Hawkins age 21 of Indianapolis, was in Possession of Cocaine. He was lodged in the Madison County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Class “D” Felony.
