[DNR] Monroe Lake to offer nature programs at Bedford Library, March 18

Entry Description
Monroe Lake interpretive naturalist Jill Vance will offer two free programs for the public at the Bedford Public Library on Tuesday, March 18.

From 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., children can drop by Vance’s table in the children’s department to investigate the “guts” of a tree nut, learn how a nut develops into a tree, and make a simple craft using tree nuts.
 
At 6 p.m. there will be a 45-minute program for adults and older children in the downstairs program room. “Indiana’s Oaks” will take the audience on a virtual tour of Indiana’s forests and introduce the variety of oaks found within them. Vance will also talk about the importance of acorns in oak identification.
